Jeff Swearingen

I’ve been focused on healthcare for my entire professional life, starting as an accountant at KPMG’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Group in 1994. Public accounting was a great place to begin my career—but I soon realized it wasn’t actually accounting, but rather the healthcare space that really interested me. This epiphany led me to co-found Edgemont in 2001, where I’ve dedicated the last 17 years to closing transactions exclusively for healthcare businesses. I graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara and hold series 7, 23, 24, and 79 securities licenses.

At Edgemont, we do a lot of things really well. But what I’m most proud of is our ability to deliver. I’ve been in the M&A advisory business for a long time and I know that every transaction can be challenging—full of moments of change, uncertainty, and panic. Ultimately, we help our clients forge through these times by focusing on their end goal. We have a long list of former clients who are still thrilled years later with the results we delivered for them—and to me, that’s a real testament to the quality of our work. No matter whether their sale took place 10 months or 10 years ago, they continue to put in a good word for us with their peers because they saw firsthand how our commitment, expertise, and integrity helped them achieve success.

Whether I’m climbing up, biking through, or snowboarding down, I’ve never met a mountain I didn’t like. But I can’t say the same about the winters that come with them—so I also enjoy a warm beach vacation from time to time.
