First Year Analyst
Analysts work in focused three to six person teams on M&A, private equity recapitalization, capital raising, and strategic advisory engagements. Our lean deal teams provide an excellent opportunity for senior-level banker interaction and client exposure, as well as immediate “hands-on” experience. The Analyst role provides broad experience across multiple healthcare sectors and all stages of transaction execution from pitch phase through closing. This is a potential career track position – we have promoted numerous Analysts to Associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing financial models and valuation of private and public companies
- Creating offering memoranda, preparing internal committee memoranda, and creating client “pitch books”, management and board presentations
- Managing client due diligence processes
Qualifications
- Relevant internship experience or prior work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, finance and/or consulting
- Strong educational background with a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in finance and accounting with an overall cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5
- Strong analytical skills, including accounting fundamentals
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
Second / Third Year Analyst
Qualifications
- Has been an Analyst for at least 2 years (candidates with master’s degree preferred)
- Primary middle market sell-side M&A experience
- Public markets and biotech financings experience not applicable
- Real Estate, Public Finance, or Power & Utilities backgrounds are unlikely to provide the relevant M&A experience required
- Industry experience in one or more of the following sectors: Healthcare (preferred), TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), Consumer, Industrials, and Financial Sponsors (especially experience working on PE PortCo transactions)
- Closed one or more sell-side M&A transactions
- Experience at a firm with more than 10 professionals
- Licenses: Series 79 required, Series 63 preferred

Edgemont’s deal team staffing provides extensive client exposure with leading healthcare industry companies and private equity/venture capital investors. We offer excellent potential for promotion within the firm.
The Associate role provides an exciting opportunity to be actively engaged in transaction execution within a broad range of healthcare industry sectors. Associates are supported by a mentorship program with senior bankers and outside continuing education and skill development.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation and oversight of presentations to senior management and board members of clients and prospective clients
- Preparation of offering memoranda, pitch books and other materials related to M&A transactions, private equity and debt financings, valuations and fairness opinions
- Comprehensive financial modeling and valuation analyses
- Managing client due diligence processes
- Oversight of Analysts on deal teams and assist in training and mentoring of Analysts;
Qualifications
- Completed a 2- or 3-year Analyst program
- No MBA Associates (unless they completed a full-time investment banking Analyst program prior to their MBA)
- Primarily middle market sell-side M&A experience
- Public markets and biotech financings experience not applicable
- Real Estate, Public Finance, or Power & Utilities backgrounds are unlikely to provide the relevant M&A experience required
- Industry experience in one or more of the following sectors: Healthcare (preferred), TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), Consumer, Industrials, and Financial Sponsors (especially experience working on PE PortCo transactions)
- Closed three or more sell-side M&A transactions and worked on deal teams where they have managed an Analyst
- Experience at a firm with more than 10 professionals
- Licenses: Series 79 and Series 63 required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on sell-side healthcare M&A transactions
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software; knowledge of healthcare-specific valuation methodologies preferred but not required
- Deep understanding of the healthcare sector, including sub-sectors such as Healthcare Services and Healthcare IT
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and senior-level professionals
- Proven track record of successfully executing M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side deals within the healthcare industry
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
