David Blume

I’ve been an investment banker for my entire professional career and have exclusively advised healthcare companies since 1994. After starting out as a financial analyst at Salomon Brothers, I worked my way up to Managing Director at Bear Stearns by age 32 and later ran several industry coverage teams for Lehman Brothers. I graduated from Haverford College with a BA in philosophy and hold series 7, 24 and 79 securities licenses.

For me, nothing beats the sense of pride that comes from helping clients. Whether we’re completing important transactions for private equity companies or helping entrepreneurs achieve their lifelong dreams, every client interaction is rewarding in its own way. One of the greatest professional compliments I’ve ever received came from a founder whose company served the psychology sector. After closing a major transaction, he told us we had “earned honorary degrees” in the subject because we understood his business so well. These are the stories I work for—and building Edgemont has allowed me to experience these moments every day.

Cycling is one of my biggest passions—and an activity that I enjoy both recreationally and competitively as a United States Cycling Federation Category 4 racer. In recent years, I’ve brought my leadership skills and love for cycling together, co-founding and sponsoring various teams. And when I’m not in the office or biking on the road, you can find me reading modern fiction, cooking, or enjoying fine dining and wine (particularly Russian River Valley Pinots). I have two daughters and a son who mean the world to me.
